Accountant Job Responsibilities

The accountant should be a self-starting professional who is comfortable with nonprofit accounting. Be able to work with clients, our team in the Philippines, financials (review prior to being sent to clients). Work with the Executive Director to manage workload. This position would work directly with a number of clients that are all nonprofits. We aim to provide quality, high value services, and consider this our contribution to these organizations. The accountant should be able to: 

  • Review/analyze consolidated internal and external financial statements

  • Work alongside the team to pull data and review as needed

  • Meet with clients weekly/biweekly to review financials, answer questions, provide status updates 

  • Work with clients on implementation of new software, onboarding, and other service offerings

  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures

  • Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Benefits + Work Hours

This position is open, part time to full time. Each employee is given 30 days of PTO for full time employees; prorated for part time employees (includes holidays.) Employees all work from home. A computer + supplies will be provided, along with development resources each year.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong analytic abilities, time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team; prioritize tasks

  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail oriented; Ownership and pride in work product 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite; Asana and donor management systems a plus

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred
